Enlighenment is not a one time thingy. It doesn't happen once and then it lasts a lifetime. No!

Enlightenment is not an activity that happens once and then it is over.

No, enlightenment keeps on happening as you become more and more aware about various subjects.

Here is what enlightenment is actually like:

"In a way, enlightenment is just like being in a dark room and switching on the torch to put more light on a specific area to understand more."

So the initial enlightenment happens when you realize that you are in a dark room with a torch which you can switch on to understand the room better than you would when it was all dark. That is the initial and the major enlightenment.

Then there is continuous enlightenment when you keep using that torch to understand the dark room; to either find the right way, or to ensure where you are at.

Sometimes, the enlightenment can bring distress too. Because it could so happen that you switch on the torch and find yourself sitting in a puddle of poop. Covered with it. It is not a pleasant thought. Now you have three options:

1. either to switch off the torch and forget that the thing you are covered in, and just go back to being how you were. People tend to do so with substance abuse, intake of alcohol, use of psychoactive drugs, eating disorders, sexual overstimulation, competition with an intention to harm.

2. To feel sorry to find yourself in a position such as that and cry about it for a long time

3. To mourn for a short time and then begin to think of ways to clean yourself up, and clean the area so that no other person walking around in the dark room can step over there and finds himself covered in sh#t too.

Hope that makes sense. Thanks for reading.

Sincerely yours

Siddharth Soni
